08 Aug Nashua’s Legacy Playground Project
(Nashua, NH)- The Finlay Foundation, a New Hampshire 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life for Granite State residents by assisting children and families in need has awarded the Leadership Greater Nashua Organization a $25,000 grant in support of the Legacy Playground Project.
Leadership Greater Nashua’s barrier-free playground project aims to develop a playground that allows all children and families in the Nashua community to come together in a “relaxing, outdoor setting to enjoy the company of others whether they are able-bodied or disabled”. Playground equipment will include “configurations that are fun, rigorous and challenging for children and/or adults of different abilities”.
“We are delighted to support this wonderful project within the Nashua community and look forward to seeing the playground reach completion,” says Finlay Foundation President Karin Finlay. “No child should be without inclusive places to play and dream. We congratulate the fundraising efforts of the Leadership Greater Nashua team, who successfully raised $100,000 in response to our challenge”.
Created by businessman Robert J. Finlay and his wife Karin, The Finlay Foundation is committed to offering future generations opportunities to succeed and to sparking a renewed commitment statewide to cultural, civic and community involvement. In its handful of years of operation, The Finlay Foundation has awarded more than $1,000,000 to local charities.
